Mirjana Maksimovic | Senior Associate
Mirjana is a Senior Associate in Marsdens Law Group’s Commercial Law Department, working alongside Partners Justin Thornton and Rahul Lachman.
Since joining Marsdens as a graduate in 2020, Mirjana has developed experience across a broad range of commercial law matters, with a particular focus on building and construction law and local government law.
Mirjana combines her legal knowledge with a strong commercial understanding, helping clients navigate complex matters with a practical and considered approach.

Mirjana has gained experience across a variety of areas of Commercial Law, with particular expertise in building and construction matters and local government law.
Her work in these areas requires an understanding of both the legal and commercial considerations involved in complex projects and transactions.
Working alongside Justin Thornton and Rahul Lachman, Mirjana has developed a strong foundation in commercial legal practice and continues to build her experience across the diverse needs of Marsdens’ commercial clients.
A Strong Commercial Foundation
Mirjana’s legal career was preceded by a strong foundation in business and commerce.
She completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of New South Wales in 2016, majoring in Accounting and Business Law. It was during this degree that Mirjana discovered her passion for law and decided to pursue a career in the profession.
She subsequently completed her Juris Doctor at the University of New South Wales in 2019, followed by her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law.
Mirjana was admitted as a Solicitor in 2021.
Her combined background in commerce, accounting and law provides her with a valuable perspective when assisting clients with commercial matters, particularly where legal decisions intersect with broader business and financial considerations.

For clients dealing with commercial, building and construction or local government matters, Mirjana brings a combination of legal knowledge, commercial awareness and a practical approach.
Her focus is on understanding the client's objectives, identifying the issues that may affect those objectives and providing clear advice to help clients move forward with confidence.

Mirjana is fluent in Serbian, allowing her to assist Serbian-speaking clients.
Outside of Work
When she is not at work, Mirjana enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and friends.
