Lachlan has recently rejoined Marsdens Law Group as a Partner.
Lachlan’s professional career has spanned some 30 years working and specializing in Real Estate and Real Property Law.
His employment experience ranges from: -
Lachlan undertook his legal training and legal work within the property team under the tutelage, and guidance of Jim Marsden, and later Peter Crittenden. Lachlan specialised in the areas of residential conveyancing, financing and refinancing loans, large scale property developments, off the plan sales and purchases, complicated acquisitions, easements and covenants, Council property work and, commercial/retail leasing work for small and large tenants, and landlords. Lachlan reached the level of Senior Associate before pursuing greener pastures.
During his 14 years at Westfield as a General Manager Lachlan led various teams including Retail Lease Administration, being a quasi legal team specialising in retail leasing transactions across Australia and New Zealand, transacting in over 4,000 Leases, and dealings annually, and led approximately 40 staff. He also led the Retail Tenancy Delivery and Architectural Technician teams that opened circa 2,000 shops annually across Australia and New Zealand, and led approximately 80 staff.
With Lachlan’s broad range of real estate and leadership experience he has gained a reputation for providing sound, practical and commercial advice on all aspects of property, and retail transactions.
Lachlan has a pragmatic and astute approach to problem solving. He applies that strategic focus and intention to ensure the best outcome for our customers. Lachlan is unashamedly committed to having a customer-first approach. He serves all customers with empathy, passion and a genuine hyperfocus on creating a better customer experience from the customers perspective - “customer obsession” – as he likes to phrase it.
From Lachlan’s wide range of real estate employment experience he has assumed many leadership roles. His passion for people, belief in diverse and inclusive cultures, desire to inspire individuals, and teams has been recognised by his employers, and peers. He has also served on the Property Council of Australia as a mentor for young executives.
Lachlan is a devoted father and has proudly raised his 2 sons Harry and Sam in the Macarthur community. Over the years, Lachlan has been involved in the community and is a life member of the Camden Sports Club, current member of the Macarthur Law Society, current supporter of the Mounties Football Club, former Vice President and first grade player of - Camden Tigers Soccer Club, Camden Rams Rugby League Club and Camden Rams Rugby Union Club.
