Kate is a newly admitted solicitor in the Criminal Law department and has been with us since February of 2021. Kate recognises that criminal law is complex, and that the legal system can be both ostracising and confusing for many members of the community. In turn, Kate is passionate about assisting clients to smoothly navigate the court process and mitigate the stress of criminal law matters.

Kate has a Bachelor of Social Science (Distinction), a Bachelor of Laws (Honours Class 1) and Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of Newcastle. Kate’s commitment to her studies allowed her to obtain not only technical knowledge of the law, but excellent skills in critical analysis, problem solving and persuasive writing.

During her time at the University of Newcastle, Kate volunteered at the University of Newcastle Legal Clinic. Kate’s time volunteering allowed her to interact with the local community and to develop an understanding of how a person’s background can influence their interaction with the criminal law. Subsequently, Kate is highly compassionate, honest, and dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome for clients.

Kate was born and raised in Newcastle, New South Wales and frequently travels back to visit her twin sister, other immediate family, and the beach!
