Ernest is a solicitor in the Dispute Resolution & Litigation Department and joined Marsdens in 2020.

Ernest was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2015. He has been involved with debt recovery disputes, winding up applications and others in the Court of Appeal, Supreme, District and Local Courts of NSW. As he is fluent in English, Mandarin and Malay while having a conversational level of Cantonese, he is able to not only accommodate to local clients but also foreign clients.

Ernest is a strong believer in going the extra mile for every client so they are not stressed out by the tedious procedure of court proceedings. He achieves this by being honest with clients at the start, keeping them updated of their matters and preparing them in advance for any events.

Ernest has volunteered as part of the legal team for Global Bersih (a non-profit organisation declared a stakeholder by the Election Commission of Malaysia) in relation to their Overseas Voting Reform Proposal 2019 to the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Ernest was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Ernest came to Australia for his tertiary education, completing a Bachelor of Law at the University of Tasmania and his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in Sydney.

When he is not in the office, Ernest enjoys writing random short stories and listening to music. Ernest is an avid supporter of Manchester United.
