How We Work

Marsdens Law Group are different from many other firms as our lawyers are not general practitioners, they specialise in their particular area of law. We also have New South Wales Law Society Accredited Specialists in various fields of law. Choosing the right lawyer is one of the most important decisions you will ever make, by choosing one that is an expert in their field you can expect experience and an enhanced level of skill and commitment in your matter.

A small percentage of lawyers in NSW are Accredited Specialists, an Accredited Specialist is a lawyer with at least 5 years of experience in their area of law, they have undertaken additional study and they have been certified by the Law Society of NSW as an expert in their field.

Marsdens Law Group is formally accredited by independent auditors who undertake annual reviews and triennial accreditation.  We were one of the first law firms to achieve ISO9001:2015 accreditation for our quality management system.  Our accreditation recognises the value we place on quality service, customer satisfaction and delivering effective, first class legal services.

Marsdens Law Group prefer to be upfront about the way we charge legal costs. Where possible, we give a realistic fixed price estimate of legal fees before you instruct us to commence work on your behalf. We are able to offer multiple billing options such as:

  • Fixed fee costing - for simple matters such as wills, powers of attorneys, guardianship documents and the purchase and sale of your home.
  • Stage based costing - for litigation matters where the court process is fairly rigid, e.g. criminal law hearings, or straight forward civil litigation matters.
  • Time based costing - for more complex matters such as family law matters where the work that is completed is based upon the complexity of each case and the circumstances.
  • No win / no fee or payment on settlement - in some select cases, we are prepared to act on behalf of clients who may not otherwise be in a financial position to engage a solicitor, but have a claim that has a reasonable chance of success.
