Jim is the Senior Partner of the firm and also the Partner in Charge of Marsdens' Property and Commercial Department. He graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws in 1973. Jim has practiced in the area of Property and Commercial Law with an emphasis on development for in excess of thirty (30) years. He has been involved with the Urban Development Institute of Australia for many years and is uniquely placed to provide advice and guidance on all aspects of property development. With a broad commercial experience and involvement in many types and styles of commercial transactions, Jim has a reputation for providing sound commercial advice whilst adhering to the strategic objectives of his clients. Jim acts for many large and small Developers and State and Local Government instrumentalities. Whilst his practice focuses on Commercial and Property law, in recognition of his strategic management skills, Jim is spearheading the firm's direction in the 21st Century in his role as Senior Partner. Jim has always been comitted to the community and over the years he has been involved in many organisations including Chambers of Commerce, Odyssey House, Salvation Army and many other charities. Jim's Commercial skills have also been used to great effect in sport. He was heavily involved in the successful Wests/Balmain Joint Venture leading to the formation of the Wests Tigers. He is a former Director of the NSWRL and the Western Suburbs Football Club. He is a foundation member and Chairman of the Macarthur Club. |
