Will the insurer actively follow me or invade my privacy?

When you lodge a personal injury claim form, the insurer is entitled to obtain information about you and your claim, including information which you may not expect to be necessarily relevant. This may include information from your treatment providers, employer, or government agencies such as the ATO or Centrelink.

In some cases the insurer may arrange surveillance in an attempt to determine whether an injured person's injuries and disabilities are as serious as they have claimed.
