Aaran has significant experience in large-scale commercial litigation and recently acted for Port Macquarie Hastings Council in a large scale Supreme Court of NSW Commercial List dispute. The Council was sued by a large and resourceful Supermarket chain; Woolworths, who also sued another large Supermarket chain, Coles. Woolworths and its property holding company, Fabcot Pty Ltd, sought multi-million dollar damages against Council for lost opportunity to develop a parcel of land within the Port Macquarie CBD. The matter involved significant legal issues of a high degree of complexity together with appropriate project management and aspects of public relations and accountability objectives relevant to his client, the Council and to its constituents, given the amount of local media interest in the outcome of the dispute. Council was eventually successful in the substantive matter before the Supreme Court over the course of a two week Hearing, however the Decision was subsequently appealed in the NSW Court of Appeal; Aaran acted in the Appeal proceedings and Council successfully defended the Appeal after a two day Hearing.

Aaran lives in Redfern/Waterloo, has an affinity with the local community and is an Executive Committee Member of the South Sydney Business Chamber.
